From Rhianna's Conservation Message
How can you stop the decline?
More and more of our rainforest and coastal bush lands are disappearing to urbanisation. When you buy a block of land, plant or leave native tree's in good numbers to provide homes to displaced animals. Where possible, encourage the wildlife back by providing safe homes for them. Bird breeding boxes, possum houses in trees, and unpolluted water sources will all help, even in the midst of suburbia.
Think twice before pouring chemicals and pollutants into water sources. Even your kitchen sink is a water source, as most feed into treatment plants that can not remove all pollutants before feeding into local water sources. Pollutants may not seem like much, but once a stream is degraded, it effects everything from local plants, to birds, mammals and reptiles.
Take care on our roads. Many of our animals come to grief on roads. If an animal is hit, always stop. If the animal is still alive, call the nearest wildlife care organisations. If it is dead, check for a pouch. Many joey's survive the impact only to be taken later by birds, or die when swarmed by ants. Its amazing how many marsupials we actually have in this country, and many people don't realise that even the bandicoot will have pouched young.
Be careful when using house hold pesticides. In our gardens, snail and slug bait kill birds and reptiles as they feed on poisoned snails. Plants treated with pesticide will poison our wildlife when they are eaten. Rat baits are designed to attract all animals, including our native wildlife.
Consider donating or gifting local wildlife care organisations some funding. Almost all wildlife organisations in Australia are funded by public donation. Without the generous support of the public, we are unable to continue our work. If you have time to spare, join your local wildlife care group, and become a wildlife carer.

Surrounded with Austraian wildlife, I saw such creatures as a Tasmanian Tiger, Koala, Kangaroo, Feather Tailed Glider, Brushtail Possum, Echidna, Platypus, Dingo, Flying Fox, Lesser Long Eared Microbat, Blue Tongue, Goanna, Brown Snake, Water Dragon, Green Tree Frog, Eastern Snake, Necked Turtle, Carpet Python, Kookaburra, Emu, Azure Kingfisher, Cockatiel and most surprisingly, the Tawny Frogmouth. You must take a look!
Rhianna's Rampage is chalk full of rescue stories, wildlife facts, and articles, sharing Rhianna's passion for Austrian wildlife and how we humans can do our part to make sure that wildlife will always exist.
There are more than several rescues here and pictures too. You can read about a big red snake, a blind snake, a turtle named Tommy and a lucky lizard. I was most impressed with a bat name Bruce Almighty and could clearly feel his regal attitude in both picture and words authored. His is a sad story but gives lesson to how fragile our nature really is. We to often take the beauty of our world for granted and Rhianna's Rampage reminds us in a most educational way that we must take notice and do what we can for it's survival.
